Hi, we are the Griffins!

Adam Griffin is a pastor, podcaster, and author from Dallas, Texas. He graduated from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Doctor of Educational Ministry degree in 2018 (though he only goes by Dr. Griffin if he’s hoping for an upgrade on a flight).

Adam and Chelsea have been married since 2010 (not nearly long enough). They met on a Monday. One year, one month, and one day later – they got married (to each other). They share a passion for following Jesus and making disciples.

Chelsea has been a Golf pro, Golf Coach, and L&D Nurse. Adam has been in vocational ministry for 20+ years. Their primary ministry is in their home with their three boys – Oscar, Gus, and Theodore. They also have a golden-doodle named Maroney (she is not a Christian).

In 2018 the Lord led Adam to leave his role at The Village Church to plant Eastside Community Church in their neighborhood of Dallas. When Adam isn’t Lead Pastoring or parenting or husband-ing – he loves to write, podcast, and create resources for families.

Adam’s first book for parents was Family Discipleship which he co-wrote with Matt Chandler. In 2021, Adam and Chelsea launched the Family Discipleship Podcast with their friend, Cassie Bryant. It is regularly one of the top parenting podcasts in America (and Kazakhstan).

  • The Mission?

    FamilyDiscipleship.com exists to equip and encourage Christian parents to lead their families. Our motto is “lead the way.” We believe that sharing your faith with your kids is critically important and that it’s done in the mostly ordinary, everyday, normal interactions between parents and their kids. We want it to be important and normal to open a bible together, to pray together, and to talk of the things of God. We want to help parents train up their children in the way they should go (Prov. 22:6) and encourage parents to diligently teach the love of God to the next generation (Deut 6:7). We also believe that a household centered on Christ is a delight (Prov. 29:17).

  • The Logo?

    The logo for FamilyDiscipleship.com is a drop of water falling onto a sprouting seed. The work of family discipleship is planting seeds of the gospel, watering those seeds by encouraging belief in and love of God, and praying that God would grow genuine faith in the lives of our children. We plant. We water. But God gives the growth. It is also reminiscent of a missionary cross. A missionary cross is a symmetrical Christian cross pointing in the four cardinal directions. It represents a desire to see the gospel take root everywhere.

  • The Elephants?

    Throughout our site you’ll find a few elephants. Elephants raise their young in community. Much like the church, the elephants protect their young as a herd and share responsibility for their upbringing. There are even stories of how young male elephants who lack the presence of a bull will use their strength to harm and destroy, but when led by an elder, they learn how to use their incredible strength with self-control. It takes a herd to raise an elephant and it takes a church to raise another generation.

  • The Blueprints?

    Throughout our branding you will find our blueprint wallpaper. A blueprint is a plan of action for the building of a home. We like that a blueprint serves as an easy symbol for our desire to make a plan on how to build our households. It also reminds us of Psalm 127 that starts with, “Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.”
